I'm a WINNER!!


I made a picture of myself, Nic McPhee and Brian Ohs riding on top of a mystical Geneticorn. Huzzah!

This picture was made to go along with this article about Nic, Brian and myself. We won a really big fancy award in Italy for talking about super complicated science things... you know, the kind of things that might bring about the destruction of the world by the accidental creation of sentient Terminator death robots.

when did you grow an awesome beard and start wearing bow ties? and does this mean a free trip to italy to accept the big fancy award?

I grew the beard last week on a whim. It mostly involved lots of concentrating and I almost pooped my pants. Well I did go to Italy to give the presentation, but I do not get a free trip back. We did not receive a big fancy award either... unless you count a nice little certificate and a box of hand made Irish chocolates as big and fancy. The chocolate was delicious.

The main reward is the recognition from academia.
