Hello everyone,
It has been ages since I have posted any comics. I am sorry I have been so quiet lately. I have been working on finishing The Adventures of Tyler J. Hutchison for the San Diego Comic Con. I just finished page 42 and have thumbnails up to page 50. I am aiming for having a 64 page book ready to buy and read at SDCC so keep a look out! When I am finished with the book I will start posting pages for everyone to read.

Hey everyone, John Campbell stereotypist makes hourly comics. I am insanely jealous of John Campbell because he is internet famous, so now I AM MAKING HOURLY COMICS!! Also a bunch of other people way cooler than me started making hourly comics as well. My finger is still very messed up, so I am doing this as kind of a physical therapy to try and whip it back into shape. Yesterday I only did 9 hours worth of comics, my hand was hurting too much after 9 hours of comics and making art for ScribBall 2 so I just gave up.

I finished my applications for graduate school!! Huzzah. This means I will have much more free time to draw and make comics again.

Unfortunately, last Saturday night I popped the first and second joints of my index finger out of place and fractured my finger. Of course it had to happen to the finger on my left hand (my drawing hand) so I am out of commission from drawing for a little while. It might be another month or two before I am back to normal. So as much as I hate to do this, The Adventures of Tyler J. Hutchison is officially on hiatus until my drawing abilities get back up to snuff(this does not mean that the art in this comic has ever been good... nor does it mean that it will eventually be good... but I will at least try to get it back to the mediocre level that it was at.).

This does not mean that I will not be drawing or posting anything for the next two months. I need to stay practiced and keep trying if I ever hope to get better. This just means that I will not be posting pages for my adventure comic. This also means that for the next month or so everything I post will probably have the most terrible inking ever...

On the plus side, maybe you will get to read some bonus comics that I have drawn with my opposite hand.

I still love you even if I don't act like it all the time.

Dear Internet,

I am sorry that I have not updated at all this week. I have comic pages sitting in my notebook right now... I just need to ink them. But instead of inking and scanning them I have been focusing on trying to get into Graduate school.

I am also taking the GRE on Tuesday... It is more of an annoyance than a stress. The math is all generally pretty simple, however, the questions are all very circuitous and misleading. But that is a whole different post in itself.

Anyways, I am sorry for not posting more comics, but I should probably focus on my real life future at the moment instead of my comics future.

Read From the Start

Remember this comic?! I hope so. I am sorry for the lack of updates for the past week. :( I tried to make myself feel better by saying at least I posted some illustrations and t-shirt designs, but I still feel very guilty for having neglected this web comic. This is good, because if I feel guilty about my lack of updates it must mean that I am actually really starting to feel some real feelings for this comic. I originally just started making this as an exercise, to just start making pages without much editing, try to keep things simple and try to keep to a regular schedule. I may not have been the best at keeping to a regular schedule, but I have been doing sort of ok for the most part. I am really starting to look forward to the time I spend thumb-nailing and jotting down ideas for a page, and I really am starting to enjoy writing and developing these characters... I think I have a few of them well developed enough in my mind now where they are really just kind of writing themselves.

Now all I need to do is be a little more consistent about coloring pages... :p

p.s. I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! and I hope everyone had a happy election day, I know I did.

I have been making a few t-shirt designs. These are possible t-shirts for an improv troupe called the unusual suspects. What do you guys think? I have been thinking about maybe putting something up on threadless, but I am afraid of having my dreams crushed.

I really like this one... but I am afraid that it is too busy. I am going to work some more on it and try to simplify it, but keep it exciting!

Sorry for no coloring. You will notice that this is actually page 27 instead of page 26. Page 26 is still in the works, but it is just some more awkward moments with birds and Applenose.

Also remember that jimmythechang is awesome. I am going to keep posting to his LJ every once in a while, I encourage you all to go yell at him and tell him to start making more comics. It would make him eternally happy to have you harass him.

Sorry I kind of got out of the swing of things for a little while, but now I am back to normal. I printed a few mini comics off for SPX on really cool paper, confetti colored paper! I always wanted my comic to have a nice paper feel to it. So I scanned in a piece of paper and I am using it instead of the beige color. Thoughts? Comments? It this a nice new change? I think I am going to keep doing it this way.

I am sorry about these tedious bird comics, the next one is going to be about real adventures!! I have two more pages pencilled, and I will hopefully have them all inked and colored before the end of the week!
